I didn’t really dig the recent Twin Shadow album as much as others (Pitchfork labeled it as “best new music,” which typically all but guarantees I’ll like it); however, this remix has a lot of the stuff I really like—catchy melody; propulsive, occasionally syncopated beats; some choppy vocals. I haven’t heard the original (or of Oh Land at all, for that matter), but this remix should certainly get some burn over at Catchy Song of the Day headquarters (aka Tarun’s headphones).

Jamie Woon - Night Air (Deadboy Remix)

I heard the original song (co-produced by Woon and Burial) awhile ago, but it didn’t quite hit the spot for me, so I was just waiting for a remix to take this song to the next level. Deadboy provides the best remix I’ve been able to find, with some nice house-y synths, 2-step drums, and 8-bit arpeggios to complement Woon’s dubstep-friendly crooning.
